As 2016 comes to a close, the Coldwell Banker Charitable Foundation and Special Spaces proudly teamed up for a fifth and final dream bedroom makeover of the year. Looking back at all of the beautiful rooms we’ve transformed, there’s no greater joy than knowing that together, we have helped brighten the lives of five very deserving children and their families.
The latest room makeover was for Guilianna, a vibrant 5-year-old living in Streamwood. She was born at 32 weeks, weighing only 1.3 pounds. The first 10 months of her life were spent in the NICU, where she suffered a number of complications that caused her to have developmental delays and Short Gut Syndrome — a malabsorption disorder caused by the removal of the small intestine.
It was an incredible team effort by the Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, Oak Brook and Elmhurst offices to raise the funds for Guilianna’s “My Little Pony” themed bedroom makeover, in addition to providing time and talents volunteering on makeover day. A special thank you to Gianna Ricci, Kevin Casey and Yvonne Mortimer for being the driving force of the fundraiser and making it an incredible success.
The bedroom included new furniture, custom art pieces painted by our very own, Scott Allgood, new lighting and a lot of pink and purple throughout. They went above and beyond and even gave her twin sister, Graciela, a mini bedroom makeover as well!
Thank you all for your ongoing support to our Foundation! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
